Red Snapper is going to be the big fishing story for this month. This years Red Snapper season is going to be very short but sweet so don’t miss your chance at one of the best fishing trips that the Gulf of Mexico has to offer. Book your trip early is our best advice! Red Snapper are an excellent fish for eating and provide large fillets that no matter how they’re cooked up taste wonderful. These fish are notorious for their ability to put up a tremendous fight, but a few sore muscles are well worth it. Most Red Snapper weigh between 6 and 15 lbs. and live on reefs in depths of 110 feet or more, and a full day charter will be necessary to reach them and yet provide plenty of time for fishing. A great abundance of Red Grouper and Mangrove Snapper are also found living on the same reefs as Red Snapper adding a nice variety to round off your day on the water, not to mention Tuna, Marlin and Mahi-Mahi. Once again, BOOK EARLY as it appears that we are only going to have a 26 day Red Snapper season at best starting June 1st!
